Artist Statement

People have long been one of my greatest source of inspiration in art; at once, insignificant, mere specks among billions of others, and yet extremely important and unique, spiritual and eternal beings. I am fascinated by the complexity and diversity of people individually, as well as cultures and interactions between people.

Most of my work is informed by ideas of identity, relationships and internal realities. I am also very interested in the motivating factors that drive people in the choices they make, the things they pursue. I work in a narrative style often using surreal or unexpected imagery. I often use symbolism and metaphor throughout my work but I want each piece to aesthetically communicate the feeling behind the work as well.
