This April I had the pleasure of spending a month in Beijing with the Red Gate Residency. This was my first visit to China and came on the tail end of a few months of traveling in Nepal and India. My beautiful studio durring my time at Red Gate was in a village on the north side of Beijing. When I arrived the cherry blossoms were just starting to come on, which I found out was lucky as they only last for a week or two. It was wonderful to live, and work around, learn from and get to know my fellow residents, RGR staff, and artists from the comunitiy. In addition to this I was able to explore and expeience some of this amazing city and the vibrent art scene there.
Durring my time in China, I worked on a few paintings as well as a series of charcoal drawings that I will try to post soon.
